FUTURE OF MUSIC WIP Workshops & Live Events
WIP Workshop days - split into two 4 hour sessions of 25 participants.
50 music artists in Bristol. London and Brighton take part in a multidisciplinary workshop, gaining individual feedback on work in progress from a composer/musician, music producer, studio engineer and two sound institutions. To ensure quality feedback, participants provide a link in advance, and specialists review them collectively and prepare notes ahead of the session. Artists can experiment and discuss audio tools with engineers throughout the session. We select & notify 8 artists the next day, who prepare sets for the live event in one month.
WIP space will have an eight speaker spatial sound system surrounding seven separated tables - 5 x specialists + King’s College & L-Acoustics. Each table has a laptop & 2 headphones with access to all submitted links. We will provide pens, notepads, lots of seating, and free refreshment area for artists to mingle, relax, work privately & interact with others and the team.
