Future of Music Nights - 7pm-9.30pm

Audiences of 100 people in Bristol, London, and Brighton are introduced to eight acts performing live in a pop-up venue, with full stage production and experienced sound and lighting engineers at the consoles.

The Night

●  3-6pm Sound & lighting engineers do sound checks and run-throughs with each act.

●  6-7pm Acts and the team have a buffet dinner together in the green room.

●  7.30 Junkerry (JK) opens the event, revealing the spirit and mission behind the project (3-5 mins).

●  7.35 What Does Not (WDN) hosts & introduces acts, keeping the audience engaged between sets.

●  Acts do a 1 min intro on their sound, and perform their own original material in a 10-15 min set.

●  At set end, the act does onstage interview with JK on method, intention, artistic purpose (3-5mins)

●  9.20 Performances end. WDN brings acts back on stage one by one, with JK arriving last.

●  JK shares how we’ll support / connect in the next 12 months (newsletters,online artist sessions etc)

●  9.30 JK closes the event, until next year.

●  On exiting, audiences asked for vox pop feedback, and can interact with performers and team.

WIP Workshop days - split into two 4 hour sessions of 25 people

50 participants in Bristol. London, Brighton, made up of musicians, sound artists, producers take part in a multidisciplinary workshop with music specialists: inc composer, musician, producer, studio engineer and two sound institutions. To ensure quality feedback, participants provide a link to a ‘work in progress’ in advance. Specialists review the material collectively and prepare notes ahead of the session.

The space boasts an eight speaker spatial sound system that surrounds seven separated tables - 5 x specialists + King’s & L-Acoustics. Each table has a laptop & 2 headphones and access to submitted links. There will be pens, notepads, lots of seating, and a free refreshment area for participants to mingle, relax, work privately & interact with others and team.

The Day

●  Scott opens, explaining the workshop’s aims, intentions, and structure for the day (2-4 mins)

●  He introduces the specialists, who each talk for 3-4 mins re skills, experience & musical passions.

●  Participants have scheduled 1to1 time slots with each of the specialists (min 10 mins).

●  King’s College & L-Acoustics invite participants to explore/test audio tools throughout the session.

●  Every 30 mins there is a 5-6 min musical interval, when a specialist plays a piece by Junkerry on

the spatial system, and discusses technicality, originality or intention with participants.

●  Throughout the team will encourage interactions between participants, to share thoughts & ideas.

●  Scott closes, giving info re next 12 months, inc quarterly artists Q&A sessions dates and contacts.

●  On exiting, participants asked for vox pop feedback.
